ColorHarmonics.com was founded in 2022, and I am excited to be able to offer my artwork to a global audience now.  

I am an Expressionist Symbolist painter, meaning I see art as a way to express feelings moreso than the realistic representation of objects.  I am influenced in part by the painters of the Impressionist and Post-Impressionist movements in Europe, including Monet, Degas, Renoir, Manet and many others, but I am more fundamentally aligned with the artistic traditonal of the Bauhaus Movement, particularly Klee and Kandinsky, Der Blaue Reiter, The School of Paris and Frantisek Kupke and Robert and Sonia Delauney of the Orphist Movement.  Many of these artists asserted strong connections or even integrations between visual art and music or the art of sound - as do I:)!

Although the Symbolist Movement is better known in the history of Literature, in Art, the artists Gauguin, Matisse, Redon and Klimt are considered Symbolist Painters, and after Bauhaus have the most influence on my work.  

Almost all of my work is inspired by a feeling - as opposed to a thing - and I often paint when I cannot find words that can express those emotions.  Most of my paintings have multiple meanings and messages - some which I want the general viewer to see - some which are more targeted to a specific person or audience, but then the audience may change over time.

For example, my latest painting "Harmony of the Spheres", is a representation of a musical composition I created for my students, but which I now share with a broader audience.

But Mom didn’t teach me Rock and Roll!!!  I had to wait until I met my husband, the well-known Bay Area percussionist, guitarist and singer Michael Buczek, much later for that!  In 2019 Mike and I - along with his daughter Andrea Buczek - released our album "Build Me a Boat:  Folk Favorites" which is available on BandCamp at https://amandagriffith.bandcamp.com.  

I studied flute and voice in High School and at Amherst College, where I studied with Mrs. Eloise Finardi, a former instructor at the La Scala Opera in Milan, Italy, considered to be the heart of the “Bel Canto” tradition.  She subsequently referred me to Ms. Anna Hamlin in NYC - who had taught at La Scala as well - and with whom I was honored to study as well.  

I am a Certified Teacher of Simply Music, https://www.simplymusic.com, a revolutionary music education program that makes playing music acheivable for everyone:)  My studio offers piano, voice, flute and guitar lessons to students of all ages utilizing technology to expand the accessibility, convenience and availabililty of music education.

Prior to starting my businesses in Mountain View, CA, I worked primarily as a technology management consultant or manager in the Financial Services Industry, holding management or director positions at Deloitte & Touche, LLP, Ernst & Young, LLP, Lockheed Martin, American Express, JPMorganChase, HSBC, Wells Fargo and Visa.  While working for E&Y I earned an MBA from Columbia University.

My primary areas of expertise are information security, the integration of business and technology strategies, strategic planning and leadership, change management and global technology infrastructure management, primarily in the financial services industry. 

After college I worked in the non-profit industry, starting out as a systems analyst at Columbia University’s Teacher‘s College.  I have managed the finances of multiple small to medium-sized businesses in the for-profit and non-profit sectors, including several independent art and music companies.
