“Exponentiality(TM)” by Amy Lynn Freeman -
Is being introduced as part of ExpoMetro’s Group Art Exhibit - running from July 15th - 29th - in the Tunnels of Barcelona’s underground transit system:)! This painting is unlike some of my recent work, which came through analysis, planning, research and multiple iterations of options. This one came fully formed in my mind when I woke up one morning in 2023. I didn’t know what it meant entirely, and still don’t, but think it has something to do with the enormity of the changes we are about to experience due to technology evolution - and what came to my mind’s eye as a visual celebration of the current transformation of human potential through the science of finance - enabling the distributed delivery of capital at the level of the individual economic actor:) Distributed Finance, or “DiFi” as it is sometimes called, although currently associated with newer crypto finance models, could in more common language - be used to refer to the broader growth of person-to-person markets such as Shopify!, which are making new financial options for artists and other creatives more available.
